11-Stage Filtration & Mineralisation of Artesian Water
Aqua Element is artesian water drawn from a deep well, approximately 120 metres in depth, in the Quyi Chirchiq District of the Tashkent Region. Before bottling, every drop passes through an 11-stage treatment system designed to remove any impurities a deep aquifer may carry, and to restore the natural mineral balance that gives drinking water its taste and physiological value.
This page documents each of the eleven stages, the resulting mineral profile of the bottled product, and the regulatory oversight under which we operate.

The 11 stages of treatment & mineralisation
The stages are listed in process order. Each has a specific engineering job; together they produce water that is safe by regulatory standards and balanced in mineral composition.
-
Quartz filter
The quartz filter removes larger suspended particles — sand, rust, mud, and visible impurities — from the raw water. Its main job is to reduce turbidity and protect the next filtration stages from clogging.
-
Activated carbon filter
Activated carbon adsorbs chlorine, off-odours, off-tastes, and certain organic compounds. This step improves the smell and taste of the water and protects sensitive equipment such as the reverse-osmosis membrane.
-
Ion exchanger / softener
The ion exchanger reduces water hardness by removing the calcium and magnesium ions that cause scale formation. This protects pipes, filters, pumps, and the reverse-osmosis membrane from mineral build-up.
-
Regeneration block
The regeneration block works alongside the ion exchanger, restoring the softener resin once it becomes saturated. This keeps the softening process effective and ensures stable performance over time.
-
Polypropylene sediment filter — 5-micron cartridge
The 5-micron polypropylene sediment filter removes fine particles that have passed through the earlier filtration stages. It captures small sediment, rust, and mechanical impurities before the water reaches more precise filters.
-
Polypropylene sediment filter — 1-micron cartridge
The 1-micron polypropylene filter provides a finer level of mechanical filtration. It removes very small particles and prepares the water for reverse-osmosis treatment.
-
Reverse osmosis
Reverse osmosis is one of the principal purification stages, where water passes through a semi-permeable membrane. This process reduces dissolved salts, heavy metals, microorganisms, and many other unwanted impurities.
-
Membrane CIP — Clean-in-Place system
Membrane CIP is used to clean and maintain the reverse-osmosis membrane. It helps remove scale, mineral deposits, and organic build-up, keeping the membrane efficient and extending its service life.
-
UV filter
The ultraviolet filter disinfects the water by exposing it to UV light, which inactivates bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms. This step provides additional microbiological safety without adding any chemicals to the water.
-
Mineralisation
After reverse osmosis, the water is enriched with beneficial minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Mineralisation improves the taste of the water and helps balance the pH level.
-
Ozone-generator treatment
Ozone treatment provides a final disinfection step before storage or bottling. It keeps the purified water fresh by suppressing microbial growth, then naturally breaks down to oxygen.
Mineral profile of the bottled product
Approximate ranges from regulator-overseen testing. This is a low-mineralised drinking-water profile suitable for daily consumption.

| Calcium (Ca²⁺) | 10–60 mg/L |
| Magnesium (Mg²⁺) | 7–20 mg/L |
| Sodium (Na⁺) | 5–15 mg/L |
| Potassium (K⁺) | 1–4 mg/L |
| Bicarbonate (HCO₃⁻) | 50–120 mg/L |

| Chloride (Cl⁻) | 5–10 mg/L |
How an 11-stage system compares to the alternatives
| Treatment approach | Taste & mineral balance | Microbiological safety | Beneficial mineral content |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aqua Element — 11-stage treatment with mineralisation | Balanced, natural | UV + ozone; no chlorine in the bottled product | Restored after RO (Ca, Mg) |
| Reverse-osmosis-only (no mineralisation) | Flat, "empty" | High when properly maintained | Minimal |
| Unmineralised bottled water | Source-dependent | Producer-dependent | Source-dependent, often low |
| Tashkent municipal tap water | Chlorinated | Safe at the plant; quality varies along distribution | Natural, variable |
Regulatory oversight
Production and product quality are under the oversight of the Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health — the national sanitary-epidemiological regulator (Sanepid).
Current laboratory test results are available on request — email [email protected] and we will share the latest report from the regulator's oversight cycle.
Frequently asked questions about the process
Where does Aqua Element water come from?
From a deep artesian well in the Quyi Chirchiq District of the Tashkent Region, Uzbekistan, at approximately 120 metres.
What is the TDS (total dissolved solids) of Aqua Element water?
30–50 mg/L — a low-mineralised profile, comfortable for daily drinking.
What is the pH of Aqua Element water?
Approximately 7.5, slightly above neutral.
Why use reverse osmosis AND mineralisation together?
Reverse osmosis removes nearly all dissolved substances, including the minerals that give water its taste and physiological role. Mineralisation re-introduces calcium and magnesium back to balanced, drinking-water levels — combining the safety of RO with the taste of natural mineral water.
Who tests the water quality?
Production and product quality fall under the oversight of the Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health.
How is the water disinfected?
Two physical methods are used in series: ultraviolet light, which inactivates microorganisms, and ozone treatment, which is the final disinfection step before bottling. No chlorine or chemical disinfectants are added to the bottled product.
What is the difference between artesian water and tap water?
Tap water is typically drawn from surface or shallow groundwater, treated centrally, and distributed through pipes. Artesian water is drawn directly from a confined aquifer deep underground, bypassing surface contamination and the municipal distribution system.
Is the 19-litre bottle returnable?
Yes. The 18.9-litre (19-litre standard) bottle is returnable — we collect the empty on the next delivery. The 10-litre bottle is a smaller-format option for home use.
Where do you deliver?
All of Tashkent city plus neighbouring areas of the Tashkent Region. We do not deliver outside Uzbekistan.
How can I request the latest lab test results?
Email [email protected] and we will share the latest report from the regulator's oversight cycle.
